What to Expect for those Wedding Day Feels

by Grace McAdory August 30, 2017

All The Feelings - a Wedding Day Blog from All Dressed Up, Bridal Prom Tuxedo

Finally, the day the day has come. After putting a significant amount of blood, sweat and tears into prepping for this day, you’re totally ready to see everything you’ve worked so hard for finally come together. But the thing is, you just never know how you're going to react on the big day. No worries! We're here to help get you prepared with a basic day-of emotional survival guide. Here are a few wedding day emotions that you can no doubt expect to feel, peppered with some positive reinforcement.

Wifey

As the sun rises and you wake from your well deserved beauty rest, reality sets in. Today is THE day, OMG it’s here it’s here it’s here!!! You’re mind is going 1,000 mph in every different direction and you haven’t even gotten out of bed yet. Your cheeks already hurt from smiling so much and your stomach is churning. You get to spend the rest of forever with the love of your life, and today is the day you both become officially official. You’ll have this pressing urge to climb to the top of the nearest mountain and joyfully shout to the world about how "today’s the day." But disregard that urge, you have a wedding to get to.

Bridezilla Repellent

Your dress needs to be steamed, you still haven’t eaten breakfast, and you can’t get find your cell phone. You’re analyzing every last detail in your head while (at the same time) attempting to remain calm. The key thing to remember is, everything will work out. And besides, some of the best wedding day stories come from chaotic moments. Having a little anxiety here and there is completely natural. Everyone will know not to take your bridezilla moments personally!

Crying Bride

Family and friends from all over start pouring in and there is a consistent flow of happy hugs taking place between guests. It might seem surreal that all those people are there for you, but they are, and that’s intense. Best advice: have tissues and waterproof mascara on hand at all times; you never know when the waterworks will come.

Bridal Party Bridesmaids

Your dress is on and your heels are strapped. The clock's ticking and emotions are running high. Suddenly the phrase “roller coaster of emotions” has never seemed so relevant. At this point you just want to say your “I do's” and be done, but you also want to savor every lasting second of this experience. You’re scared, happy, nervous, anxious, and everything in between. In this moment, your MOH and bridesmaids will have no problem assuring you that everything will be just fine.

Bride and Groom

The ceremony is over and you managed to walk (somewhat) gracefully down the aisle, say your vows without screwing up, and put the ring on the right finger, which is on the left hand. You didn’t even ugly cry, hooray! All your worries have disappeared, and you’re an official Mrs. now! You’ve made it through the glorious mixture of emotions, and you know what that means... It’s finally time to celebrate! So grab your bae and hit the dance floor.

Cheers!
